Same to you! I know you love this holiday... It's the Irish in you. It's weird - you do seem to have a connection to Ireland... What with Bono and Joyce and St. Patrick's Day!
HAPPY ST. PADDY'S DAY!! Did you go to an Irish pub to celebrate? I'll be teaching Joyce tomorrow, so I guess that's kind of fitting. I did not wear green and I got pinched!
No, didn't go to an Irish pub. Was gonna spend the evening pubbing with our Irish friend but I ended up staying home cleaning and studying. It's not as big of a deal as you might expect here. Not like it is in the States! And anyway, we were at quiz night at the pub where our friend works (same guy actually) on Thursday night and were there till past midnight so technically it was St. Patrick's day then. :)
And yes, as a Joycean a part of me will always be Irish, not by blood but by soul. LOL how corny was THAT? But seriously, my friends and I are thinking about heading over to Dublin on June 16 for Bloomsday after finals with our Dubliner friend here. It's something I've always wanted to do and have to get it out of my system while I live in London since it's so close by!
St. Patrick: HI! What an honour for you to stop by my blog on YOUR day! :)
Kleio, daughter of Zeus, is the Muse of History in Greek mythology, and I am a historian in the making.
What to expect to read here
Nothing profound - this is just a way for me to let my family and friends at home, or at least those who are interested, know what's going on in my daily life while I'm at grad school.
